A Plan for Prayer
During the transition process, prayer is very important. There are a variety of opportunities you can be a part of to pray for Christ's Place as we Move Forward.
Sunday Services
We will target some Sundays when we will join together in corporate prayer during our worship service.
Announcement of Search Team: July 20
For Jim and Verna Wilkins on their first Sunday: August 3
One Day/Week
We are asking the congregation to pray one day a week for God to lead the Search Team with wisdom and discernment as we move forward in selecting the Lead Pastor. A Moving Forward Prayer Card is available with targeted prayer directives. Executives Leaders desire each day of the week to be covered by at least 15 individuals.
First Sunday/Month
During CE in the 24/7 Prayer Room – Executive Leaders invite the congregation to join in prayer as we come before the Lord and ask for His wisdom in selecting Christ’s Place next Lead Pastor. Scheduled Dates: August 3, September 7 and October 5
First Friday/Month
We invite the congregation to fast a meal or the entire day. We are asking the Lord to order our steps and point us to God’s choice for our next Lead Pastor. We position our hearts in humility by setting aside a meal or entire day in fasting.
Scheduled Dates: August 1, September 5, October 3
Wednesday Evenings
Jim Menter will facilitate intercession in the 24/7 Prayer Room at 7:15 pm. The primary focus is for the process of securing the Lead Pastor. The congregation is invited to participate.
Deeper at 6 pm
August 24 will be an opportunity for the body to gather in worship and prayer. The focus for the evening will be to update the congregation and join in prayer for God’s continued direction in leading us to His choice for Lead Pastor. We will pray corporately and in small groups.
Prayer Shield
Executive Leaders asked a small group of intercessors to pray daily for the Search Team. The team recognizes that in our own strength we are not capable of the assignment. We need God’s strength to assist us.
Altar Ministry Prayer Team
Karen Bowling will include Moving Forward prayer directives in her weekly prayer update to Sunday altar workers. |
